Code: SC-FTD-2602 Location: Frenchs Forest, Sydney NSW 2086 Employment: Full-time, on-site Reports to: General Manager Posted: 9 August 2026 Status: Open until filled

Applications remain open until the position is filled. Suitable candidates may be interviewed as applications are received.

About the Role

SachetsCo is a Sydney-based contract manufacturer working across sachet filling, blending, product development and selected packing formats for food, beverage, wellness, sports nutrition, cosmetics and personal care. This is a practical, on-site role based in Frenchs Forest, Sydney NSW 2086. You will be working directly with formulations, bench equipment and customer projects, not in a remote or desk-only capacity.

This opportunity may also suit an experienced NPD technologist, food scientist or formulation technologist with direct commercial formulation and scale-up experience.

In addition to customer projects, this person will manage the technical and operational product-development pipeline for SachetsCo-owned brands, from concept and formula planning through samples, launch readiness, production handover and post-launch improvement.

We are looking for a commercially experienced food technologist to take customer projects from brief to sample approval and production handover. You will work across powder beverages, hydration, electrolyte, sports nutrition, wellness, functional food and nutraceutical formats, and you will be expected to manage the full technical lifecycle of each project with accuracy and clear documentation.

Formulation Duties

  • Review customer briefs and identify missing technical information before work begins.
  • Develop powder beverage, hydration, electrolyte, sports nutrition, wellness, functional-food and nutraceutical formulas.
  • Prepare accurate bench and pilot batches from 500 g to 10 kg.
  • Balance flavour, sweetness, acidity, mouthfeel, solubility and serving strength to meet brief requirements.
  • Assess flow, hygroscopicity, caking, bulk density and filling suitability for production.
  • Work with common functional ingredients including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, sweeteners and fruit powders.
  • Control formula versions, bills of materials, batch sheets, samples, specifications and production handovers.
  • Review certificates of analysis, specifications, technical data sheets, safety data sheets, dates, allergens and storage requirements.
  • Track customer and retention samples.
  • Handle technical customer emails and feedback professionally and accurately.
  • Support trials, first production runs and relevant production work.
  • Escalate regulatory classification, claims, cosmetic preservation, stability and microbiology questions where specialist advice is required.

SachetsCo-Owned Brands, Planning and Customer Management

  • Manage the technical and operational development pipeline for SachetsCo-owned brands.
  • Convert concepts into briefs, formulas, BOMs, specifications, sample plans, packaging inputs and launch checklists.
  • Maintain roadmaps, launch calendars, critical paths, task lists, dependencies, approvals and next-action dates.
  • Coordinate ingredients, suppliers, flavours, packaging, artwork technical inputs, samples, trials and launch readiness.
  • Track projects from concept through approval, first production and post-launch improvement.
  • Own day-to-day technical communication for assigned customers, including clarifying briefs, replying to emails, recording decisions, chasing approvals and confirming next steps.
  • Report project stage, risks, blocked items, owner and due date to management.
  • Manage multiple customer and internal-brand projects without losing formula control, traceability or deadlines.
  • Support accurate technical content for brand websites, product pages, specifications and launch materials, subject to approval.
  • Coordinate designers, marketers, regulatory advisers, suppliers and production staff.
  • Support small batches, trials and first commercial runs.
  • Identify problems early and propose practical options without waiting to be chased.

Qualifications and Hidden Talent

We value strong qualifications, but credentials alone are not enough. Exceptional directly relevant experience with measurable results may be accepted. We value people who build systems, prevent problems and improve cost, speed, quality or capacity.

We require a Bachelor degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a closely related discipline, plus 4 or more years of commercial formulation, scale-up and manufacturing experience. An exceptional candidate with 7 or more years of directly relevant formulation, scale-up, documentation and production-transfer experience may be considered. A general nutrition qualification alone is insufficient.

In your application, include three measurable achievements, one system or process you improved, the hardest relevant problem you solved and one hidden capability that could help SachetsCo grow.

Computer and Digital Capability

The successful candidate must be highly competent with computers and able to learn new systems quickly. Strong practical ability is required in spreadsheets, email, calendars, shared files, PDFs, document control, project trackers and online research.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, filters and structured trackers.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace capability.
  • Experience with CRM, project-management, inventory, ERP or workflow systems. Zoho is desirable.
  • Ability to create project plans, dashboards, timelines and action registers.
  • Shopify or similar website administration for approved content updates is desirable.
  • Responsible use of approved AI tools without exposing customer formulas, personal data or confidential information.

Who Will Succeed Here

You can move between formulation, customer emails, planning, brand development, sample preparation, supplier follow-up and production support without losing control of priorities. You are commercially practical, calm under competing demands and disciplined enough to document every material decision.

This role manages technical brand development and project execution. Final approval of pricing, contracts, marketing spend, therapeutic or medical claims, regulatory classification, label release and commercial launch remains with authorised management or the relevant specialist.
